Our faculty do research at the cutting edge of science and are skilled mentors recognized for their work with students. NUTGAP scholars will live in comfortable, up-to-date campus housing, with a meal plan, accident coverage, access to UC Davis’ superb student recreation facilities, and a rented bicycle.
UC Davis faculty also support work-life balance and we encourage visiting scholars to explore Northern California on weekends. NUTGAP scholars will experience a close-knit academic community that lies in a college town within half an hour from the Sacramento metropolitan area and two hours from San Francisco, with access via convenient public transportation. For those who seek outdoor recreation, Davis has miles of bike paths and pleasant trails for walking and running, with hiking in the Sierras two hours east and the Sonoma coast two hours to the west.
